First Opponent TOPIC: THE GOSPEL
SKUNK: When God tore top to bottom the veil of the Holy of holies as Christ finished His substitutionary atonement for His people, He announced the end of the Aaronic earthly priesthood system -- with all its furnitures, the human actors (i.e. priests), and animal sacrifices -- a system that served as a shadowy type of the true High Priest to come who alone holds the office of the eternal priesthood. Now the true Priest has come and offered Himself without blemish to God as the one and only Sacrifice for sin, once for all, never to be repeated, and He has accomplished eternal salvation and cleansing of conscience for His people. And His people have this confident hope of heaven always, since their eternal Priest always lives to make intercession for them. So what is making you, my Roman Catholic friends, cling to a version of a priesthood system and its superstitions (which certainly will not cleanse away your sins), and not cling to the only true High Priest who will cleanse you from your sins? 12/24/2022 0 Comments Luther's baptismal regenerationIs Baptism necessary for salvation?
Read and judge for yourself whether this is truly Reformed (i.e. biblical) or obviously heretical. This is the sad story of a man called Bob the Heretic.
Bob finds the Bible, the word of the true God, to be foolishness and a stumbling block, because he has not been given faith to believe. His allegiance therefore is to himself due to his inflated view of his own wisdom. He has no desire to honestly study God’s word in order to know who He is, what He is like, and what He has done. Love for God, obedience, worship, reverence, selfless allegiance to God’s Lordship are all words that are not in his vocabulary. He loves too much his lustful pleasures, and his own god who permits him to do everything he desires — himself. And when he reads about the true God’s judgment against sin and His invitation to find forgiveness and pursue holiness, his brain’s self-idolatrous creed is to not only not believe Him (for to believe is to submit), but also to despise the holy God. 9/24/2022 0 Comments Reason for Art and CreativityAs a renown film director once mused, as a visual arts creator, you have access to people’s minds for a certain period of time. You hope to entertain and wow them, but more importantly, you want to leave them with a lasting, psychological "pebble in their shoe" for their brain. Thus, entertainment is a kind of the Trojan horse. You want to tell compelling stories and ideas that they otherwise could not have come up with and thought about themselves. If your communication is captivating enough to hold the attention of your audience, then you will have succeeded in accessing their minds and filling their thoughts toward the truth. It is to this purpose that Christian artists hope to awe people with visually stunning work.
8/20/2022 0 Comments Debunking Infant Baptism(This post is based on John MacArthur's debate with R.C. Sproul regarding paedo-baptism.) "Baptism is at the crossroads. One road leads to ritualism, institutional church mixed with the saved and the lost. The other leads to faith alone, the glory of the cross, the resurrection, and the true identity of the redeemed church." - John MacArthur

Even in the Old Testament, it is confirmed ethnic Israel isn’t exclusively the people of God. Think about Ruth, Uriah, Ephraim and Manasseh, etc. But more so than individual examples, see what the Old Testament Scriptures say: 7/22/2022 0 Comments Oneness V. TrinityFirst Opponent Skunk:
I'd like to invite Daniel (or anyone else of the same persuasion) to the stand, to testify concerning the doctrine of the Oneness of God. Could we find from the Old Testament and the New Testament definite passages that either affirm or oppose the doctrine that says God is only one Being with no paradoxical interpersonal relationship within Himself? And conversely, could we find from the OT and NT definite passages that either affirm or oppose the doctrine of the Trinity (i.e. God is "One yet Three;" God is One yet paradoxically Three distinct Persons)? |
